Wow, who said that last year could pass us by so quickly? I sure didn't give permission! Regardless, it has gone and was quite bittersweet and educational. I'll take it, and I'll smile on the pleasant memories, and infuse both the good and bad into my own art.

This is a new year, so during this time of stasis, this short period before Spring begins will be a time of reflection. It will be a brief pause before moving forward and giving all my focus to my passion, which is of course, the photography.

I am happy to say that I've also been fortunate enough to recently acquire the tools to begin a new and exciting venture: a photography studio! I have always loved, celebrated, and captured the beauty of nature to the best of my ability so that I could share it with those that might enjoy the view via my camera lens from time to time, and I will continue to do so! However, I've had the pleasure of working together, and in cooperation with my best friend and photographer, Julie Burnette, toward this new goal, and I am so excited!

Portraiture has reignited my love affair with photography, and has become the most rewarding, exciting form of the art for me. Therefore, after giving it much thought, I have decided that it has now become a career endeavor.

So with a little luck and a lot of patience, my basement will be transformed into Obsidian Photography Studios within a couple of months from now! We've already started construction, so it's only a matter of time before the doors are open.

Love to all here on Deviant, and wish me luck!

P.S. Catch up with us on Facebook!

It has been too long since I've been on here again, so I apologize to those that have added my work to their favorites, and didn't receive a 'thank you'.....so....THANK YOU!!! lol

I finally got out with talented deviant amethystmoonbow.deviantart.com… again today, and got some new shots from a cemetery in Somerset, KY, and ventured back over to Short Creek in Stab, KY again. (I know, I'm running out of locations!)

The winter has certainly limited our photo opportunities, but forced some creativity out of this reluctant mind. Therefore, there are loads of cemetery pictures to enjoy whilst I try to conjure up some originality :).  It should prove to be entertaining, at least!

I hope everyone had a great holiday, and enjoy my newest work!! :iconreindeerplz:

I have attempted this journal entry a total of 5 times because my computer has decided to be a real pain today for some reason. So this time, I'm keeping it short and sweet!

I've been looking back on some of my older submissions since joining Deviant, and for once, I can actually say I'm satisfied with the direction I'm going in.

I had no idea how much I would love this particular outlet of creativity when I first began going out on photography adventures with fellow deviant amethystmoonbow.deviantart.com… , and then soon after, with deirdrebardowl.deviantart.com/ as well. I've learned so much from them both, and their art amazes me!!

Like most people in this wonderful place, my art is my passion. I am literally addicted to learning new things about photography. Seems the more I learn about my craft, the more I learn about myself....I guess what I'm ultimately trying to say here, is that I am finally happy pursuing something I love, because this time....it loves me right back!! :giggle:
