Wow, who said that last year could pass us by so quickly? I sure didn't give permission! Regardless, it has gone and was quite bittersweet and educational. I'll take it, and I'll smile on the pleasant memories, and infuse both the good and bad into my own art.
This is a new year, so during this time of stasis, this short period before Spring begins will be a time of reflection. It will be a brief pause before moving forward and giving all my focus to my passion, which is of course, the photography.
I am happy to say that I've also been fortunate enough to recently acquire the tools to begin a new and exciting venture: a photography studio! I have always loved, celebrated, and captured the beauty of nature to the best of my ability so that I could share it with those that might enjoy the view via my camera lens from time to time, and I will continue to do so! However, I've had the pleasure of working together, and in cooperation with my best friend and photographer, Julie Burnette, toward this new goal, and I am so excited!
Portraiture has reignited my love affair with photography, and has become the most rewarding, exciting form of the art for me. Therefore, after giving it much thought, I have decided that it has now become a career endeavor.
So with a little luck and a lot of patience, my basement will be transformed into Obsidian Photography Studios within a couple of months from now! We've already started construction, so it's only a matter of time before the doors are open.
Love to all here on Deviant, and wish me luck!
